Lullaby Lim
For a man aspiring to become Penang’s future Chief Minister, Lim Guan Eng is quite on par with Koh Tsu Koon (the man he intends to replace) in terms of competing for the most yawns from their respective audiences every time they speak.
As this article will be centered on Guan Eng, and his attempt to score bonus drool points in front of the camera, please be advised that bolehland.com shall not be held liable in case you fall asleep at work while reading this.
“Oh, here we go again, another opposition-basher.”
In that case, I’d rather you see for yourself how opposition bashing is done by the opposition itself.
Yet, after writing the above, I remember Nat’s very reasonable call for Malaysians to be patient with the child the government’s opposition is. You see, I am hardly as romantic a person as Nat is, and therefore, as hard as I tried to romanticise Guan Eng’s denouncement of DAP’s “equal partner”, I could only come to the conclusion that the son is quite boring.
The harder I tried to be patient with Guan Eng’s long winded and repetitious complaint about Keadilan’s alleged bullying tactics, the harder it was for me to keep my eyes from shutting. Granted, my average nightly sleep of two-hours the past ten days has not helped.
Then again, I’ve got this inkling that Guan Eng knows exactly how his charm, or rather the lack of it, is not winning him many fans.
Which is why we see him trying so hard to be like Khairy Jamaluddin. The son-in-law is most known for his “Gempur!!!” war cry whilst leading 300 Mat Rempits out into the wilderness to civilise the world. Khairy believes he is the 21st century Che Guevara going about liberating the despaired, though I doubt he has any notion of the class struggle. In fact, he is well known to be a capitalist! In short, Khairy Jamaluddin is what biologists would call the very top of the food chain, Halal of course.
But I digress. The son is drooling already. He quickly learns Gempur tricks, chop and change but just a bit, and *Taa-Daa* he belts out a fusion tune in remix. Try imagining the lyrics of ‘In The End’ to the tune of ‘Lullaby’.
In moments like this, I don’t know whether to cringe or to laugh. Guan Eng can be so poetic at times it’s hard not to mistake him for a language teacher.
PKR does not treat DAP as an equal partner
We have always treated PKR as an equal partner
They do not treat DAP as a PKR partner
Breach of faith!
Complete lack of respect for DAP!
Do you treat us as an equal partner?
We have treated you with respect
But you do not treat DAP as an equal partner
Breach of faith!
Lack of respect!
DAP cannot accept!
PKR must prove their sincerity
As we have proven ours to them… OKAY?
Not very okay, son. Zzz.

Is he not the same sec gen who claimed in the public that he is the friend of anwar & not keadilan?
hmmm……, now he is talking about people not respecting them. but then again, doesn’t it sound funny when his own dap members in pg, selangor, melaka etc did not respect the decisions make by his leadership. isn’t it apt for him to look at his own backyard first?
Extending on ckchew’s comment, I can only speculate that Guan Eng is under tremendous pressure from DAP grassroot while he tries to negotiate his way with Keadilan. So this is probably one “act” that he has to put up.
OMG - is this wht’s going on at the Opposition??? No wonder they can’t put anything together.
They not only have a leader tht’s as charismatic as dried paper, they have a leader that’s in dire need of learning how to come up with more than just ‘respect me,respect us, respect you’ rhetoric. (and a good speech writer).
And yet still no definitive plan about what governance plans, it’s all about me, me,me, me vs you..
uaghhhhh
[…] political parties are in greater mess than a Barisan Nasional at its worst. Lim Guan Eng, somehow, lends credence to such unfortunate views. At points such as this, where you know Malaysia is […]
